Am I able to stay anonymous if I have counselling with Dot Com?
You have no need to ever personally meet your counsellor though I will need to take some basic details. This includes name, date of birth, home address, contact telephone number and emergency contact.
This is for safeguarding reasons, to ensure your safety should I feel that you or someone you spoke about was at risk of significant harm.

No one other than myself will see the information that you provide.
All sessions will be carried out in a private environment.
I receive clinical supervision on a regular basis, this is inline with BACP guidelines and ensures that I am working ethically and in the best interests of the client. Your individual case may be discussed with the supervisor but no identifiable information will be shared.

I have experience with working with all age groups. Clients under the age of 18 are welcome but parental consent would be required.

The number of sessions that you undergo will be based on your individual need. I do however recommend a minimum of five sessions in order to allow therapeutic change to begin taking place.

If you cannot make a session, don't worry. I do ask that you inform me within 24 hours of the scheduled time.
If you cancel your session within 24 hours, you will be charged (this is at the counsellors discretion).

I have personal liability insurance in addition to being a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).

Can I have counselling with Dot Com if I am feeling suicidal?
Suicidal thoughts and suicidal ideation (intent) are two different things. If you are currently having thoughts of committing suicide and have a plan in place then you should contact emergency services (999 UK) or the Samaritans on 116 123 (UK) immediately.
Thoughts of suicide with no current intent can be quite normal for a number of people. If this is the case, counselling may help.
I have Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
